WHERE IS LA GRANGE ANIMATION LOCATED ?

La Grange Animation is located in the southwest of France, in Pomarez, in the Landes region, at 1534, Route de l’Amérique.

 

HOW TO COMMUTE TO LA GRANGE ANIMATION ?

By Train :

Pomarez is located between two medium-sized towns, Orthez and Dax. Dax is served by the LGV Sud Europe Atlantique high-speed train line, making it easy to reach Paris by TGV (approximately 3 hours and 27 minutes). The simplest option is to take a train to Dax station, then continue your journey to Pomarez by bus, taxi, carpooling, or rental car.

By Plane :

You can fly to Paris and then take a train from Paris to Dax in the South-West, which is about 3 hours and 27 minutes by TGV from Paris. You can also fly into Bordeaux, which is located two hours by car or 1.5 hours by train from Pomarez. There are also airports in Biarritz, Pau, and Toulouse, all about an hour from Pomarez by train or car.

By Car :

Pomarez is approximately 2 hours by car from Bordeaux, 1 hour from Bayonne or Pau, and 2 hours from Toulouse.

 

HOW TO GET HERE FROM DAX STATION?

By Bus :

You can take line 528 from the bus station, located at the train station exit. However, bus schedules are limited, so it’s recommended to check the operator’s website for timetables or contact them directly at 05 58 05 66 00 or by email at accueil@rrtl.fr.

By car :

You can rent a car directly at the station. Several options are available nearby, such as Europcar or Enterprise, which you can easily find on Google Maps. You can also arrange carpooling with other residents. This will be organized via email, depending on the number of people, and you will be informed of the details. We also offer an exceptional pick-up service at the station for long-term rental residents, if necessary.

 

HOW TO GET AROUND ONCE YOU’RE HERE?

By car:

We recommend having your own car or renting a vehicle on site, as let’s not forget, we are in the countryside, not in the city! If you want to fully enjoy the region and its surroundings, or simply be more independent, it’s best to get around by car. The village of Pomarez, where you’ll find all the necessary amenities, is only 4 minutes away by car.

By bike :

We offer free bike rentals on site. You can reach the village in 10 minutes, mainly using small paths, before reaching the main road where you’ll need to be particularly careful.

On foot :

The village is 30 minutes away on foot, where you’ll find all the necessary amenities.

 

WHAT TO DO ON SITE?

On site, you’ll find a rural gîte and a coworking space, both renovated and fully equipped. You can also enjoy a guinguette, a large vegetable garden where you can rent a space, and a park with chickens and eggs available for you. We also have games such as mölkky, pétanque, and a ping-pong table. Additionally, there is a large workshop available for DIY projects. The place is very calm, relaxing, and friendly, with a family-oriented and authentic atmosphere. We live in harmony with the seasons and in peace. We often organize meals on site, and the people who visit quickly appreciate our little world. We love sharing local specialties and meals with the people who are here, but everyone is free to enjoy the space in their own way. We’ve made sure that the work area and the living spaces are well separated, so that everyone can retreat to a peaceful area if desired. Everyone lives at their own pace, and we don’t force anyone. If you’re into sports, you’ll appreciate the brand-new gym in the village, which offers evening classes, yoga, and various other activities. There’s also a great pizzeria and a taco restaurant.

 

WHAT TO DO AROUND ?

You are only an hour’s drive from the Atlantic Ocean, the Pyrenees, and the Basque Country, making our location very convenient. Far enough from the cities to be peaceful, but close enough to easily take a trip to the mountains or the beach in just an hour.

1. Discovering Nature and the Landes Environment

Pomarez is surrounded by the vast Landes forest, ideal for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding. The peaceful landscapes and trails through the pine trees offer a complete immersion in nature.

The Parc Naturel Régional des Landes de Gascogne: A beautiful natural space to explore, with activities like hiking, wildlife and plant observation, and canoeing on the rivers. The Huchet River at Moliets is one of our favorite spots here. You can also visit the Pyrenees for some incredible hiking.

2. Cultural and Historical Activities

Typical villages of the Landes: Visit nearby small villages like Saint-Justin or Castets, with their traditional architecture and local markets, to experience the authenticity of the region. Go further to Eugénie-les-Bains, Salies-de-Béarn, Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and many more options.

Dax city: About 30 minutes from Pomarez, Dax is famous for its thermal baths and historical heritage, including the Roman amphitheater and the Saint-Vincent Basilica.

Musée de la Chalosse in Montfort-en-Chalosse: This museum showcases the local history of the region, particularly agriculture and traditional Landes culture.

The Prehistoric Museum of the famous Lady with the Hood of Brassempouy is also a must-see, as well as the Marquisat Museum.

WHERE TO DO YOUR SHOPPING?

The local market: Pomarez has a market that takes place several times a week, where you can find fresh, local, and artisanal products such as fruits and vegetables, cheese, honey, meats, and more. It’s the perfect place to discover regional products and support local farmers.

Intermarché: There is an Intermarché supermarket in Pomarez, where you can do your everyday shopping (groceries, hygiene products, etc.).

Proximarché: There is also a Proximarché in the town, a small supermarket offering basic food products and daily necessities.

Carrefour in Dax: (about 30 minutes away) In Dax, you’ll find a Carrefour with a large selection of groceries, drinks, and specialized sections.

Auchan: Auchan in Dax also offers a wide variety of products, from fresh items to home goods. Nearby markets and farms: In neighboring villages like Saint-Justin, Montfort-en-Chalosse, or Castets, you’ll find local markets where farmers sell fresh and artisanal products. WHAT IS THE INTERNET CONNECTION LIKE ON SITE?

The connection is excellent. We have fiber optic since this summer, with a reception speed of around 936 Mb/s and an upload speed of 500 Mb/s. These speeds may vary depending on your connection, whether you’re using Wi-Fi or an Ethernet cable.

 

ARE CHILDREN ALLOWED?

Children are allowed in the guest house but under the responsibility of their parents, of course. However, access to the coworking space is prohibited for them, as it is a workspace. Additionally, children are not allowed in the workshop.

 

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

Pets are generally allowed, but dogs must be kept on a leash due to the presence of chickens. Also, the departmental road can be dangerous, so it is strongly advised to keep your pets on a leash.
